Blast From the Past
I love when they wear plaid. I am a little sad that I will not be able to attend the "Hometown Throwdown" this year. It was practically raining in the Middle East last year from the heat/water pipes. Also they just released a new album, their first in 7 years, called "Pin Points and Gin Joints." I just got my hands on it and going to give it a few spins in the next few weeks.
Here is a little fan video from the Throwdown last year that me and G attended. (illustrating the 575 person capacity in the basement)

Blast From the Past
In the second installment, the classic monotone hit, "Mmm mmm mmmm mmm" by the Crash Test Dummies. This song makes me laugh every time I hear it. It always reminds me of when Weird Al made his version of it. (seen below) The monotone also reminds me of how boring The National is.

Blast From the Past
Here is a new feature of the Z Files that I am going to put up occasionally of music from the past that has a special place in my heart for whatever reason. I like it, its funny, or reminds me of certain events. For whatever reason, this song popped up on my ipod the other day which raking the lawn. I haven't listened to shuffle in forever because usually I try to stay strictly albums, but I'm going to give shuffle another chance. Who doesn't enjoy looking at playmates and listening to some rap/rock.

Oldie by Goodie
I stumbled upon this track recently and have been listening to a lot. Such a simple song with a hip hop backbeat. Try to get it out of your head.
